Yes, it’s a 100% electric catamaran that needs no fuel to run. It recharges just like an electric bike, by plugging into a standard outlet.

We recommand you to check the regulation for your country.

In France, the OVB100F, OVB100C and OVB150C models do not require a permit. Only the OVB150F model requires a permit.

In France, this depends on the power of the motor, but each country has its own rules.

We encourage you to look up the regulations for your country (refer to our product information sheets for watercraft length and motor power data).

Category D: in protected waters

These boats are designed to navigate in protected coastal waters, bays, lakes, rivers and canals. They are able to withstand winds up to force 4, established at 16 knots with gusts up to 23 knots, and waves with a significant height of 0.3 m or 12 inches (maximum 0.5 m / 20 inches). (The actual wave-clearing capacity of the hydrofoil watercraft is 0.8 m / 31.5 inches).

For the OVB100F and OVB100C models, we recommend a maximum weight of 100 kg (220 pounds).

For the OVB150F and OVB150C models, we recommend a maximum weight of 150 kg (330 pounds).

For the models with hydrofoils, note that a boat designed to “fly” above the water needs to remain as light as possible for optimum performance.

For the OVB100F and OVB100C models, only one person can ride at a time. (Maximum weight of 100 kg / 220 lb).

For the OVB150F and OVB150C models, two people can ride together. (Maximum weight of 150 kg / 330 lb).

No, the hydrofoils are built into the hull, so landing on the beach could damage them.
However, the more traditional OVB100C and OVB150C models can land on the beach since they don’t have hydrofoils.

In France:

  • For the OVB100F, OVB100C and OVB150C models, ensure that the operator is at least 14 years old and that an adult is present to supervise any use of the OVERBOAT by minors.
  • For the OVB150F model, in France the operator must be at least 16 and have a boating permit.

For other countries, please inquire with the relevant regulatory authorities.

Watercraft do not have brakes – you can only decelerate. The only way to stop the boat cold is to pull the kill switch. This method is not recommended for stopping the boat during normal operation, but only in case of an accident or emergency.

Yes, our various OVERBOAT models are highly maneuverable, and you can put them in reverse if needed.

Yes, you must wear a personal flotation device (PFD) approved by the relevant authorities and appropriate for use with a personal watercraft. It is recommended that you wear protective clothing.

It’s up to you to decide whether to wear a helmet when boating for fun.

We recommand you to check with your country rules.

The OVERBOAT is a boat, not a toy. Falling off or incorrect operation/driving may result in severe injury, which is why it is essential to use the OVERBOAT correctly. Pay attention to weather conditions and take the time to look at the water surface you’ll be travelling on. Don’t go out in winds higher than force 4 or if the waves are higher than a significant height of 12 inches, with occasional waves as high as 20 inches.

The OVERBOAT is designed to never capsize during proper use. However, it may capsize in the event of an accident (collision with another watercraft or floating structure, getting caught on a mooring line, etc.). This scenario was taken into account in the design phase, and a capsizing event should not interfere with your later ability to use the watercraft normally.

The user manual includes a procedure for righting and re-boarding the boat.

It uses a Neocean© motor. This motor cannot be replaced by any other motor brand. No other motor is equivalent.

We use commercial batteries.

The battery charge time is 1 hour and 45 minutes to go from a 20% charge to 100%.

For the OVB 100F, 100C and 150C, there are three 10kg (22 lb) batteries under the seat that can be recharged by plugging into an ordinary mains power socket. They are removable. For the OVB 100F and 100C, three 10kg (22 lb) removable, socket-rechargeable batteries are placed under the driver’s seat.

For the OVB 150F, there is one 60kg (132 lb) battery under the seat that can be recharged by plugging into an ordinary mains power socket. This battery is not removable, and must be recharged at a dedicated charging station.

For the 100F, 100C and 150C models, there are three 22-pound removable batteries.
They can be changed out in 2-3 minutes.

The 150F model has a single 132-pound battery that is not removable. You will need to moor the boat for the full recharging time (about 1 hour 45 minutes with the faster charging device) before going out again for a maximum cruising time of 2 hours.

The lifespan is 1000 charge-discharge cycles (after which the batteries will operate at less than 70% of their initial capacity).

Yes, the 2 front hydrofoils can be easily folded up like a small centerboard.
The foil/rudder blade/motor assembly at the rear is heavier, but we have incorporated a simple and easy-to-use patented foldaway system with a rope, pulley and handle.
The OVERBOAT’s hydrofoils are completely retractable,
allowing for easy launching and use in shallow water.

Certain hazards can be associated with the hydrofoils if you are not careful.
Be sure not to operate your OVERBOAT in shallow water, and do not come too close to buoys or moorings, as the front hydrofoils could become entangled in the mooring line, causing you to lose control of the OVERBOAT.

In France, a battery recharge costs about €1.50 in electricity – currently less than a quarter the price of a gallon of gas – for nearly two hours of use. There are no maintenance costs (the electric motor does not require any maintenance). You simply need to rinse it off and do a few visual checks from time to time. In addition, for models that do not require a permit, there is no need for accompaniment by a monitor. As for the rental fee itself, that depends to a large extent on the rental provider’s location. The rental price will be higher in very popular tourist areas than in areas with fewer visitors. Based on an average hourly rate (for tourist areas) of €120 (or €70 per half-hour) for a 30- to 60-minute “intro to hydrofoiling” session, and assuming 250 rental hours in the July-August period plus additional weekends in May, June and September, the upfront cost can be earned back in the first season, and you can begin making a profit in the second year. Note that we have a financial partner that offers leasing and lease-to-own agreements, turning your cost into a significantly more affordable monthly lease payment.

It’s important never to leave your OVERBOAT in the water, and to store it out of the water in a dry place after each use. However, you can keep it in port on a floating dock, as with a jet ski. If you’d like more information about floating docks for your OVERBOAT, NEOCEAN can put you in contact with our provider.

It is important to thoroughly rinse your OVERBOAT after each use, and to remove the batteries for the 100F, 100C and 150C models. You will receive a user’s manual with more information when you purchase your OVERBOAT.

Never leave the boat unattended and unmoored with the batteries on and the circuit breaker activated.

Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the boat and the screen. Do not use detergents, alcohol or other chemicals. When rinsing, do not get electrical connections wet.

No, NEOCEAN does not currently offer used OVERBOATs for sale.
